Changpo Shampoo Bar Making

Traditionally on Dano, hair was washed with changpo water for shine and health.
Make your own Changpo Shampoo Bar!

Ornamental Hairpin(Binyeo) Making

On Dano Day, ornamental hairpins(binyeo) were traditionally made from changpo root.
Try making a hairpin using natural mother-of-pearl.

Korean Knot Bracelet Making

Try making a five-colored Jangmyeongru bracelet,
traditionally made to wish for long life and good health.

During Dano, the king gave fans to his helpers.

Around the time of Dano, mugwort was known to have many health benefits.

Dyeing nails with Balsam flower

This is a traditional Korean summer custom where girls used balsam flowers to dye their nails.

Synurus deltoides Rice Cake(Surichwi-tteok) Making

Make three-colored jeolpyeon with mugwort, inspired by Surichwi-tteok,
a classic Dano treat pressed with wagon-wheel molds.

Schisandra chinensis Punch(Omija-hwachae) Making

Make a refreshing summer drink with omija, traditionally enjoyed on Dano.
